#GearVR2 #VirtualReality – Samsung Gear VR 2 leaks, rumors: Leaked render of new Gear VR version seen : The purported pre-order bundle for the highly anticipated next update to the Galaxy Note flagship, dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Note 7, has been leaked online a day prior to the Aug. 2 expected launch date.
And it appears like one of the supposed bundles for the device will contain the rumored upgrade of the South Korean-based manufacturer’s virtual reality (VR) headset, referred to as the Samsung Gear VR 2.
According to tipster Faryaab Sheikh, those who will pre-order the Galaxy Note 7 at the Galaxy Unpacked event this Aug. 2 will either receive the Gear VR 2 headset or a surprisingly massive 256 gigabyte (GB) micro SD card, which can be used to increase the 64 GB built-in memory of the device.Samsung Gear VR 2
The Gear VR 2 is not exactly the new version of the headset. Past reports speculated that it could just be an upgraded version of the first Gear VR with support for the latest mobile connection, the type-C universal serial bus (USB) port.
In terms of specifications, famous leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known on Twitter as @OnLeaks, shared the information to French website,Nowhere Else, that the device is expected to measure at 207 millimeter (mm) in width, 122 mm in height, and 98.5 mm in depth, with 300 grams (g) for its weight.
It seems like the Samsung Gear VR 2 is going to be a little bit lighter when compared to the first iteration with 318 g, TechRadar said in its report. It shouldn’t really be that surprising if this claim turns out to be accurate as past reports already hinted that the Samsung Gear VR 2 has a chance of being unveiled at the same time as the Galaxy Note 7 — considering that the handset is going to be the first device that the VR gadget will run on.
However, since there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet coming from Samsung, it’s best to just wait for the unveiling event to happen, which will kick off in just a few hours. Source: mnrdaily
