The South Korean company has always been giving codenames to their upcoming gadgets, such as the Galaxy S7 which was codenamed “Project Lucky.” It was released in March 2016.

This time, the Galaxy S8 reportedly has the codename, “Project Dream,” as revealed by a Chinese website. Not only is it geared to have better specs, but it may also come with virtual reality features, according to Christian Today.

GSM Arena wrote that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy 8 may boast of a 4K UHD Display with 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution. The S8 Edge is believed to have a 5.5-inch screen, but it remains unknown whether or not the S8 will also have a similar display size as the S8 Edge.

Both handsets, however, will be installed with the Snapdragon 830 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, the latest Android Nougat and a USB Type-C port for faster charging and performance.

Another rumor that has been circulating through various tech websites is the gadgets’ triple camera system. Patently Mobile wrote that the S8 may be released with a better iris scan feature, which includes a triple-camera system

The system will offer face detection function, aside from identifying the user’s iris and eye structure in order to get an accurate result. Furthermore, the handset may have two screens located on each side of the “built-in cover.”

Meanwhile, news emerged that Samsung may have made fun of Apple’s iPhone 7. BGR reported that while the company was talking about the Note 7 at a special event, VP Justin Denison commented on the imminent iPhone 7.

“Want to know what else it comes with?” Denison asked the audience. “An audio jack. I’m just saying.” His statement may have been a shade toward Apple’s upcoming handset, as it will come out without the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Source: christiandaily
