#AppleCampus2 #TimCook – New Apple Campus 2 drone video shows nearly complete structure : We can barely believe it, but Apple’s Campus 2 is finally almost finished. The latest drone video from Matthew Roberts shows the futuristic spaceship-shaped office building and all the surrounding structures coming together as the company starts work on the finishing touches.
The main building, which also kind of looks like a giant robotic donut, is almost finished. Apple just needs to install the solar panels and HVAC systems on the roof, and then apply the curved glass window panes. At the center of the spaceship, the company is laying the groundwork for an outdoor garden area with a pond where employees can relax and eat.
The massive new campus also includes a 100,000 square foot fitness center with basketball and tennis courts in front. There’s a whopping 2 million square feet of parking space and underground tunnels for driving across the campus, and you can a see a small security kiosk at the main entrance.
Apple’s new research and development centers are separate from the main building and broken up into multiple isolated structures. That makes sense considering the company’s huge emphasis on secrecy, even internally.
Apple’s plans include a new underground auditorium for future product announcements, which appears to be finished. You can see its roof is being covered in dirt and the above ground entrance looks complete, too.
Apple is expected to finish construction by late 2016 with plans to begin moving its employees over next year. We can’t wait to see the completed campus and we’re looking forward to visiting once the company starts holding its events in the new auditorium. Source: technobuffalo
