#Earth #NASA – NASA Found Places With No Gravity on Earth : Have you ever been to Canada and just felt strange? Of course, you have. However, it’s not just the weird people or cheese curds causing that sensation.
NASA and others have devised a theory that some places on Earth actually lack gravity and Canada is one of them. Don’t worry, though, it’s not as cool as you might think.
NASA FINDS EARTH IS MISSING GRAVITY IN CANADA
For over 40 years, NASA and other scientists have been trying to figure out why certain parts of Earth, particularly the Hudson Bay part of Canada, are missing gravity.
According to them, this area has less downward pull than other parts of the world. Before you go packing your bags for Canada, hear out these two theories first.
NASA SAYS MAGMA IS STEALING EARTH’S GRAVITY
One of the main theories NASA and scientists have in regards to this “missing” downward force is due to convection. Surely, you’ve heard of a convection oven, right? Well, it’s nothing like that. See, convection occurs in the Earth’s mantle.
Here, there is a thick layer of magma that is constantly shifting around to create convection currents. This drags the continental plates down, thus decreasing mass and ultimately, decreasing the gravity in the area. There’s your science for the day.
