#Microsoft #SurfacePro5Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date, news & update: Specs, features & price discussed : Fans were left disappointed when Microsoft did not launch or even announce the Surface Pro 5 in October where other devices such as the Surface Book i7 and the Surface Studio were showcased.

Despite a no show, fans still believe that the device will be launched early 2017 with the Intel Kaby Lake chipset. An early 2017 release would mean fierce competition from other tech companies who are expected to reveal a number of next-generation devices during that timeframe.

In terms of features and specs, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to feature a 4K/UHD display with a 3:2 aspect ratio just like Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4. The screen resolution would be of 3869 x 2560 pixels.

A highly-advanced Surface Pen may also be included, writes iTech Post. This would be more pressure sensitive than its predecessor. A fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C ports are also expected for added security.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may run on the latest Windows 10 Redstone 2 update, consist of a 16GB RAM and have a longer battery life. When it comes to camera specs, the device may sport a 16MP primary and 8MP front camera.

So far none of the rumours have been confirmed. Microsoft has not released any official statement regarding the Surface Pro 5. However, most unconfirmed reports suggest that the device’s release has been shifted to 2017 mainly because of the Intel Kaby Lake chipset and Windows 10 Redstone 2 update.

The Kaby Lake chipsets are expected to be launched in December. These chipsets are said to provide some awesome graphics performance in high-end devices, writes Android Origin. They also improve battery life.

Rumours suggest that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may sell around the price tag of US$899 (AU$1,170). Stay tuned on IBT AU for more updates on the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. Source: ibtimes
