The iPhone 7 was met with mixed reviews while the Galaxy Note 7 was a disaster. Apple is currently on a downward slide in terms of revenue. The company reported earlier that it is on a third consecutive quarterly decline this year.

Samsung, meanwhile, to a major hit when it had to stop production of the Note 7 and recall those already out in the market. The two giants in the tech industry will try to reclaim their glory with their upcoming flagship smartphones – the iPhone 8 and the Galaxy S8. This head-to-head is solely based on rumors floating around. There is yet an official announcement from both sides regarding the rumored smartphones. According to reports, both devices will be launched in 2017.

Apple iPhone 8

The new iPhone is rumored to have three variants in terms of the display. It will come in 4.7, 5.5, and 5.8 inches. The iPhone 8 will also have a curved 4K OLED display with a 1920 x 1310 resolution. The iPhone 8 will also come in 32, 128, and 256 GB internal storage while it is expected to have 3 or 4GB of RAM.

Its processor will likely be the A11 processor. There will be two cameras – an 8MP front camera and a 12MP rear camera. The latter will have dual lens and will be capable of 4K video recording. It will possibly have an iris scanner and wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy S8

The S8 will come in two variants. Both 5.1 and 5.5-inch display will feature the curved 4K AMOLED screen with a 2160 x 3840 resolution. It will probably come with 64GB internal storage which is expandable to 256GB. The S8 will have 4 to 6GB of RAM and will run on either Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or Samsung Exynos Pocessor.

As for the camera, the S8 will have a 12MP front camera with wide angle lens while the 16MP rear camera will have dual lens, 4K video recording capability, and optical image stabilization. The Galaxy S8 will likely have an iris scanner, as well.

Samsung’s return to respectability will probably depend on the S8 though the company is pushing the S7 and S7 Edge to soften its fall. From the looks of the rumored specs, the S8 may turn out to be impressive. Apple, meanwhile, continues to break standards and the next iPhone may surprise many. Source:itechpost
