#Microsoft #SteveBallmerFormer Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer Admits His Wrong Stance On The iPhone : After 9 years it is pretty ironic to see Apple as the leader in the Smartphone industry while Microsoft has only 1% market share. This story begins back in 2007 when the iPhone was originally announced. The Microsoft CEO at that time Steve Ballmer was very adamant with his views regarding the iPhone.

He publically stated his opinions regarding the iPhone. He thought the iPhone was a way bad idea of a Smartphone. The main objections Steve Ballmer had were the lack of keyboard and the heavy price tag of the iPhone.

Steve was very much convinced with his stance and had even developed some rants which are now infamous for that matter. In a news conference back in 2007 he replied to a reporter that a subsidized phone priced for $500 was the most expensive Smartphone in the world.

He also stated the phone would not attract business men as it did not have a keyboard to type on making it a bad machine for e mails. Ballmer mocked the phone as much as he could. All these years down the lane that mocking seems to be ridiculous.

For a split second we can admit Ballmer’s position. Apple did manage to create an expensive phone everyone wanted even though subsidized phones were in the market since a very long time. But even then the iPhone does not deserve to be mocked.

It is good to see Ballmer has admitted he had got things wrong back then. After 9 years it is pretty ironic to see Apple as the leader in the Smartphone industry while Microsoft has only 1% market share. Source: i4u
