#MacBookPro #Apple – 5 Things to Consider Before Buying a MacBook Pro 2016 : The new MacBook Pro 2016 is out. Not only that initial units started shipping to day-one buyers, some Apple Stores also have them in-stock.
However, before spending your hard-earned money on this new and beautiful thing, think first why you need the new laptop. Here are some of the things one may need to consider before buying the new MacBook Pro 2016.
No touch screen
For those who are expecting that the MacBook Pro 2016 will finally have a touch screen, they are in for a rude awakening. The MacBook Pro is still, as always, the same old LCD panel void of any touch capabilities.
However, the sort of good news is, Apple did compromise by adding a Touch Bar atop the laptop’s keyboard. This Touch Bar is quite responsive and adjusts in accordance to the application in use. Like any new touch-enabled display, it also features a ten-finger touch capability.
No post-purchase upgrade option
This, however, is not entirely true. At least for the non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro 2016. The entry-level MacBook Pro’s SSD, the one without a Touch Bar, still remains upgradeable.
Nevertheless, the Touch Bar-equipped MacBook Pro has the SSD soldered onto the main logic board. So, an upgrade is totally not in the books. In fact, iFixit has given it a repairability score of 1 out of 10.
