#HuaweiMate9 #GalaxyS7 – Huawei Mate 9 vs. Samsung Galaxy S7 – Best Specs, Features and Design Comparison : The Samsung Galaxy S7 had its reign over the smartphone market for some time, but nothing lasts forever, especially in this business where new and more powerful devices pop up constantly, and manufacturers are competing against each other for the public’s favor.
The Huawei Mate 9 is the latest flagship device coming from Huawei, a brand that has made significant progress and now has the full attention of the smartphone user community, not only locally, but also in the US, where the mobile device industry is booming.
Although it was released half a year ago, the Samsung Galaxy S7 still packs quite a punch, and can hold its own in today’s market. But how will it fare against the Mate 9, which promises stunning features all across the board? Let’s see for ourselves in this smartphone comparison.
Design and Display
The Huawei Mate 9 is a heavier device, weighing 190 g over the Galaxy S7’s 152 g. Both devices use large displays, but the Samsung handset is considerably smaller in comparison. The Galaxy S7 comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protected display of 5.1 inches, offering a max resolution of 1560 x 1440 and using the AMOLED technology.
The device is waterproof for 1.5 meter submersions and also offers dust protection. The Mate 9 on the other hand comes with a bigger screen of 5.9 inches, but offers a lower resolution of 1920 x 1080. The Huawei Mate 9 relies on IPS LCD technology.
Performance and Software
The Galaxy S7 packs the Snapdragon 820 processor provided by Qualcomm and the Adreno 530 graphics processing chip (there is a Mali-T880 MP12 model as well). It features support for extended storage, up to 256 GB, and 4 GB of RAM.
The default storage capacity options are 32 and 64 GB. Huawei geared their flagship with an octa-core processor in the form of the Cortex A73 and A53 combo, while the graphics support was supplied by the Mali G71 MP8. With only 64 GB of internal memory, Huawei Mate 9 offers support for micro SD, up to 256 GB of extended memory. The device also ties with the Galaxy S7 in terms of RAM, 4 GB.
While Samsung’s champ offers great photo and video functions with the 12 MP- 8MP combo for the rear and front camera respectively, Huawei’s Mate 9 steps it up a couple notches actually, with a 20 MP rear lens and a complementary 8 MP frontal camera.
The battery is also in Huawei’s favor, as their huge 4000 mAh unit crushes Samsung’s 3000 mAh battery. Source: neurogadget
