HP to team up with Microsoft for another smartphone in 2017 : HP first unveiled the Windows 10-powered Elite X3 in February earlier this year. Now reports suggest, the company is planning on launching yet another Windows 10-powered smartphone in 2017.
According to reports published by Phone Arena, HP will be developing and selling the Microsoft-powered smartphone at the MWC event in February 2017.
Microsoft will reportedly be providing the technology to help HP integrate features like Glance, ClearBlack display, double tap to wake and advanced camera functionalities to its upcoming Windows 10 device.
The Elite X3, which was launched earlier this year, sported a 5.96-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The device was powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz. The Elite X3 offered 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and included a 15MP rear camera along with an 8MP front camera.
The report by Phone Arena further claims that Microsoft has already revealed a new Windows 10 Mobile handset internally in Redmond. The official announcement is scheduled to take place at the MWC event in February next year. Source: deccanchronicle
