iPhone 8 to become bigger than the rest : Apple’s new flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have been selling rather well on the tech market, but Apple is not satisfied. The amount of units they are selling is huge, but Apple is used to receiving more enthusiasm regarding their devices, and they need to do something new and exciting to bring iPhones back to their old glory.
The perfect time to release a brand new iPhone design or feature is just around the corner, since Apple is going to celebrate their tenth year anniversary of iPhone in the fall of 2017.
Tech experts are speculating that Apple is going to increase the display size iPhones are going to sport to a 5.8 inch OLED display. This is a huge step in the right direction since Apple’s current iPhone 7 has a 5.5 inch 1080p LCD display.
Even though Apple has used LCD display for their smartphones, the LCD displays have always been performing really good, but the picture quality an OLED display can bring is something way better.
OLED displays have better color representation, the black levels are so good that LCD display do not even come close to that and the response time for the display is significantly quicker in comparison with the LCD display.
When thinking of a 5.8 inch display the thought of a bigger chassis comes into mind, but this might not be the case. The key element in the display size is bezels. For example Samsung provides a bigger display on their S7 Edge without making the smartphone too bulky, by implementing smaller bezels.
Apple has been rumored for a long time that they are toying with bezel-less designs. This way they could deliver a new iPhone that will come with a bigger display and at the same time they are going to keep the same footprint. Source: News4c
