Samsung Gear Fit 2 Gets Software Update: Auto Pause Feature, New Workout Tracking Options : Samsung is now rolling out an update to Gear Fit 2 and fans should be quite pleased because it introduces key improvements that allow greater tracking precision, a factor critical for its fitness-minded owners.
New Auto Pause Feature For Activity Tracking
Updated devices should be able to stop tracking if its wearer stops an activity through the new auto pause feature. It will automatically begin tracking again if it detects that the owner has resumed activity.
Aside from the fact that it showcases a higher level of tracking accuracy, this new functionality can prove convenient for users who previously had to tinker with controls in order to pause and resume tracking. Now, they merely have to proceed with an activity, leaving the fitness band to do all its work in the
Dynamic Workout Tracking
The update also expands the dynamic workout tracking. Before, the only supported exercises include walking, rowing and some repetitive activities.
Now, the Gear Fit 2 will be able to log sessions for basketball, badminton, dancing and soccer, among other fun and complex activities as Dynamic Workouts.
Tracking will kick in after the user has engaged in one of these activities for 10 minutes.
“The device is capable of recording several other common and engaging fitness activities as well, providing users with more freedom – and motivation – to optimize their exercise in the manner they prefer,” Samsung said in an official statement.
