#Snapdragon835 #Windows10 – Microsoft’s New Tablet With Snapdragon 835 and Windows 10 Coming Later This Year : Back in 2016, Microsoft and Qualcomm demonstrated that the Windows 10 operating system is capable of running on a Snapdragon 820 SoC. Granted, at the time of demo, the OS is still overcoming a few bugs and performance issues. However, it should be noted that Microsoft later announced that it is planning on porting the operating system to a Snapdragon 835 chip.
At that time, nothing more was said about the purported Windows 10 device. Now, it seems like Microsoft and Qualcomm will be releasing the said device later this year.
According to The Verge, in a recent investor meeting, Qualcomm CEO Steve Mollenkopf announced that a Snapdragon 835-powered Windows 10 device is coming later this year. The expected release of the said device will be between October and December; in time for the holidays.
Unfortunately, nothing much is said about the rumored device. However, pundits believe that the device will have a 2-in-1 form factor similar to the Surface Book or Surface Pro 4. Also, the tablet in question will have cellular connectivity as well as Bluetooth 5 wireless.
This is mainly due to the fact that newer versions of the Snapdragon can go head to head with some of Intel’s mobile processors. Also, every year, the market for ARM-based devices is increasing at a steady pace. It is only logical that Microsoft taps this market to diversify its portfolio.
While this news may sound exciting especially to a Windows 10 fan, it should still be taken with a grain of salt. Nothing is final until Microsoft or Qualcomm makes the official announcement of the said ARM-powered Windows 10 device. Source: mobipicker
